 STORY

WHO IS ROBOMAN?

ROBOMAN is the electrified alter ego of NYC artist Rob Moorman — a blue-haired, queer, electronic pop superhero who turns heartbreak, resilience, and identity into euphoric, emotional dance anthems. Born from a decade of chaos, self-discovery, and reinvention, ROBOMAN creates music that transforms pain into blue fire and fear into glitter.

THE ORIGIN STORY

Rob’s performing career began quite early — spirit fingers at birth, ballet at five, lead in musicals by ten. Growing up between Houston and Northern Virginia, he taught himself piano, composed choral music, and performed everywhere from school stages to the Kennedy Center. He won the Washington Post Music & Dance Award Scholarship at eighteen, wrote and directed his own musicals, and became a leader in his regional arts community. All of this unfolded while surviving the closet in a Catholic household, bullying at school, and the loss of his father.

BECOMING AN ARTIST

At The Catholic University of America in Washington, D.C., Rob trained in music, dance, and acting — and stepped fully into his queer identity. Nicknamed “Lord Gaga,” he split his nights between the practice rooms and the city’s gay clubs, developing his performance style and songwriting voice. He fell in love, had his heart broken, and started developing his own electronic pop universe.

THE FALL & THE REBUILD

His first move to NYC was short-lived — break-ins, financial collapse, and depression forced him back home. But moving back to Houston became a crucible: working Walmart by day and writing music by night, he realized he could transform his own name into a stage identity — ROBOMAN. It took years to build the confidence to claim it.

After a stint back in D.C. and a draining 9-to-5, Rob returned to New York to dedicate his life to art. He rebuilt his life through TV/film background work, restaurant jobs, and hours of self-taught production. When the pandemic hit, he moved home again — but this time it became the blessing that allowed him to study EDM relentlessly, honing the sound he’d dreamed of since hearing Avicii’s first hits.

THE RISE OF ROBOMAN

Returning to NYC for the third time, Rob dyed his hair electric blue, put on his 4 dollar sunglasses, and walked home in 8-inch heels in honor of Gaga ready to finish the album he'd been writing for over a decade. His emotional, cinematic EDM-pop sound was finally here. ROBOMAN emerged — fierce, futuristic, emotional, and free!

THE MUSIC

ROBOMAN blends 90s house, breakbeat, progressive, trance, cinematic scores, and queer pop storytelling into emotional electronic anthems. Each song is its own experiment — a personal interpretation of a different sub-genre of dance music, transforming each style through his unique emotional lens. His music dives into heartbreak, hope, fear, sexuality, identity, and rebirth — shimmering with electric blues, water, glitter, and massive saw-wave synthesizers that cut straight to the heart.

THE MISSION

ROBOMAN exists to empower those who are afraid to make the hard moves in their life, those struggling with heart break, queer kids young and old who need a lil more courage, outsiders who feel they are misunderstood, dreamers at all ages that whatever age you are at is your superpower, and anyone who might be struggling with sadness, depression, anxiety, you are not a lone, just play Roboman’s song and he will be there to guide you. He is a hero born from heartbreak and fear — turning real-life pain into something euphoric, defiant, and larger than life.

ROBOMAN. He LIVES!

and now the couragous YOU will too!
