IT'S OFFICIAL! I have changed my life for the better. I completed 90 Days of a BodyBuilder.com Workout Regiment Called: “12-Week Shortcut to Size”. 4/10/17 - 7/9/17
Here are the 7 things I learned on my journey:
1. It can boost your confidence.
Before, I was afraid of the Gym,
Now, I am confident when I walk in. I'm getting better with my form and happy to take advice.
Before, I was embarrassed to be the weakest in the room.
Now, I am sure not the strongest, but I realized with consistency, you soon won't be the weakest any longer.
Before, I was the slowest on the team.
Now, my mile is 7:30 and I am confident I can take a minute off that in the next few months.
2. It teaches you discipline.
Before, I was never able to complete a workout program longer than two weeks.
Before, I would say, "Well one more day off doesn't hurt anybody."
Now, I have learned discipline. I can't go to bed till I have worked out or at least worked abs....yes even tipsy on Fri/Sat night. ;) and yes, even on vacation!
3. It teaches you to never give up!
Before, I would give up.
Now, I am consistent. Every Day! Because when you have momentum, you should not lose it.
4. It teaches you that you may not see a difference even after being consistent but there is indeed a slow and steady change happening.
Gained 1lb.
Lost 1.8% body fat.
Gained 1.3% Muscle
Bench Press - 75lbs first week - 130lbs last week
5. It makes you want to eat healthy which helps your skin, boost your energy, increases your sex drive, prolongs your life, and a slew of other plus sides.
Before, I'd skip most meals and usually consume more sugars/fats then any other food group. Sometimes, I would just eat half a bag of Oreos for dinner or just chips and salsa. [to be honest, I really miss that. ;D but I DO NOT do it any longer. If you know you will eat one then want more….then don’t eat it. That’s an addiction.]
Now, I meal prep on Sundays. I eat three-four meals a day consisting of all the food groups like it's my job.
6. It can save you $$$!
Before, I'd buy lunch out at work and maybe a dinner here and there, plus buy healthy groceries and even waste those, thinking I would make my own dinner… ha!
Now, turns out, I realized strict meal plans can save you a couple $100 on food a month!!
7. Oh wait, and it can give you muscles apparently...
Before, I had no biceps.
Now, I have them.
I also have used the skills I learned from these 90 days in other aspects of my life. I have added these practices daily: meditation, reading affirmations, writing ten things I am grateful for every morning, and vocalizing my singing voice. I have now made a complete life change and will not stop eating healthy and not stop working out and not stop bettering myself forever.
So, if this commitment to 90 days has changed my life; it can change yours too.
If you are thinking of procrastinating on a diet, procrastinating on a life change, slacking on your work out regiment, can’t seem to make your goals you set, not seeing results, and giving up:
Pick one thing you want to get good at. Take a 90-day challenge on it. Track your success. And don’t fucking go to sleep till you do what you promised yourself.
